These days, VPN providers opt for long-term subscription plans and here VPN.AC has come up with many packages for different time frames. In our VPN.AC VPN review, we noticed that it doesn’t offer cheaper plans as others. Also, by comparing its subscription plans, among all the four, 1 Month, 3 Months, 1 Year, and 2 Years subscription plans, the 1 Month subscription is quite a pricey package. But the twist is that there is no partiality among their subscription plans, no matter which plan a user purchases, a Monthly or an Annual subscription, both will be provided with the same features and benefits.

Moreover, it accepts different payment modes to make it more convenient for its users. It accepts payments made through all major credit and debit cards. Also, it supports UnionPay, PayPal, Alipay payments and if the user wants to stay anonymous, they can even opt for Bitcoin.

Speed & Performance – How Fast is VPN.AC VPN?

Mostly, internet speed is pretty decent to start with but with VPN, speed does get affected because VPN connections give an extra layer of encryption, which slows down the upload and download speeds. But it doesn’t mean that the speed should start affecting the user’s activity. Some VPNs do affect the speed at an unacceptable level.

Fortunately, VPN.AC VPN is lucky in this situation. Their speed slows down in certain servers but it will mostly go unnoticed, so the user won’t have anything to complain. Let’s see with some of the tests so that you can get more insight into it.

Server Ping Download Upload
Netherlands 33ms 90.22 Mbps 48.76 Mbps
United States 115ms 58.53 Mbps 25.60 Mbps
By looking at the above chart, we can say that some of the servers may not show much difference, and some will show a slight drop, which may vary depending on the selected location.

Where Are VPN.AC VPN Servers Located?

In our VPN.AC VPN review, we noticed that it serves around 120 servers, spread across 26 different countries. Yes, we admit that this VPN provider comes under a small server network.

Furthermore, in today’s competitive VPN market, this VPN is not big enough, compared to other VPN’s like ExpressVPN or NordVPN that come with thousands of servers and with their servers extending from 30+ to 90+ countries.

Based on the reviews we did for other VPN providers, we can say that VPN.AC VPN will be a good option for an average home user, but better options can be found without paying more. On the positive side, VPN.AC VPN allows users to pick specific locations/cities that help in unblocking websites or content of any specific region. And it also provides unlimited server switching.

How is the User Interface of VPN.AC VPN?

By looking through the surface, everything looks fine. There’s no issue with VPN.AC application. Its interface is quite easy to use with various options to make the user experience quite easy without making anything complex.

But, after using it for some time, we did notice something, which is not a good indicator. Though it doesn’t leak any information, as we stated that it passed all the tests regarding data leaks, but something that bugged us is that it displays wrong location IP address, despite connecting it on another region’s server. For instance, we connected to Amsterdam, but it showed a Seychelles IP.

So, the application may be displaying an incorrect location because of the fake server locations. And yes, it’s something that must not be ignored. Though the application looks and works perfectly on the surface, this type of issue must be addressed.

How Is the Customer Support Service of the VPN.AC VPN?

We want to rate it in between when it comes to the customer support service of VPN.AC, not bad, but not good, either. There are reasons, let’s discuss.
First, if you go through their customer support page, you will find one important thing missing, which is live chat. Live chat is one of the options provided by almost all popular VPN providers. It was more like a cringe moment for us when we couldn’t find live chat support.

Now, for the good part, there are other things that must be appreciated. It provides knowledgebase containing various topics with solutions, tutorial option with guides based on the OS, namely, Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. Also, there is a submit a ticket option, which is not like others. It gives you an answer very fast, and if you submit your ticket with high priority, you may get a reply, maybe within a few minutes.

What Are the Pros of VPN.AC VPN?

  • Users can connect up to 6 different devices at once using a single account
  • It provides special instructions and servers for the VPN users in China
  • Smart DNS for streaming services
  • Strong 256-bit AES encryption standard
  • Servers specially optimized for P2P file sharing (Torrent), though it’s limited

What Are the Cons of VPN.AC VPN?

  • Not compatible with Tor browser
  • Server networks are limited
  • Sometimes its application gets buggy
  • Cannot stream Netflix
  • Browser extensions can crash, which requires to restart it again to get the connection back.
  • Live Chat support is not offered yet
  • Small-sized sever network with an average UI design

Bottom line – What’s our Take on VPN.AC?

We think you will find other better VPN providers compared to VPN.AC VPN. It doesn’t mean that we don’t like it, as there are many things which we do like about it. For instance, it provides fast speed, good encryption standards, protocols, and decent support.

But if we look through the overall aspects, it didn’t carry our interest in certain elements, and we will rate it somewhat mediocre in certain areas. Like, the application is good on the surface, but it’s quite buggy and has certain flaws. Netflix is not working, nor does it support TOR. Also, the servers are limited, and the ones that are offered have highly concentrated spots.
